It’s difficult to write about the artist Aunia Kahn in a few sentences., she is a creative soul, an artist of depth that challenges views! Aunia is totally self taught in her craft, one that comprises photography, digital art, drawing, writing, public speaking and more recently art curator and gallery owner. An artist and entrepreneur. Someone who shares her pain, theatre, passion and intensity! We were completely taken with her images, the semi autobiographical depictions of oppression, growth, survival and strength. There is a sense that Aunia is living her theatrical dream but playing it out on canvas. The drama and emotion she captures is to entertain her audience; and what a captive audience she has!! Often her own model exploring complex emotions, the line of reality and art is desirably blurred. A character, an inspiration, a women who creates and continues to build her artistic empire! We love your work Aunia and thank you for sharing with us! (more…)
When we were first introduced to the artwork of James Hands we were taken with his bold expression, the use of light and the impressionistic tones of both his landscapes and his abstractions. Clearly influenced by the great Impressionists James has explored and developed his own visually striking method of painting. Concentrating on texture and colour to produce art that is a joy to look at. A popular artist that has taken on several commissions as well as selling his work to private collections and exhibiting throughout the UK. James’ work is expressive and atmospheric, we were especially taken with the predominantly warm palettes used in James’ abstract work, the drama and attention to detail, the transient light and the overall impact. Thank you James for sharing your artwork with us! (more…)
