Chris is essentially a self taught artist..Born in Ashton under Lyne in 1966, Chris was introduced to the art world by his father, a keen art collector, who introduced him to the works of L.S. Lowry, Trevor Grimshaw, and David Vaughan. He began exhibiting his own work in the early 80’s whilst still at school, before beginning a career in the leisure industry. In 1998, Chris met and became great friends with the artist John Thompson, visiting his studio on a weekly basis. John acted as mentor and teacher to Chris, allowing him full use of his studio to paint freely. A keen collector of art himself, Chris has met and discussed art with many of the artists in his collection.
